How to Install and Unlock Iphone 3.0 (MAC OS X)

Une fois n'est pas coutume... un petit post en anglais pour ceux qui veulent installer l'iphone 3.0 et le desimlocker.

Notes:

• This works only on Mac Intel (not PPC)
• My iphone is 2G (USA), it was upgraded before to 2.2.1
• Before you proceed: remove Sim protection
• Before you proceed: remove passcode protection

1. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BACKUP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Plug iPhone / iTunes / right click on iPhone / Backup)

2. Update your iPhone to software version 3.0 using iTunes 8.2 (official way) and wait until the entire process is complete.

3. SWITCH OFF the iPhone

4. Download the latest version of redsn0w here: http://blog.iphone-dev.org/

5. Download 3.9 and 4.6 bootloaders here: http://iphonefreakz.com/iphone-firmwares/ and put the files inside the redsn0w folder

6. Find on your computer the file iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw inside COMPUTER / Library/ iTunes / iTunes Download and put it inside the redsn0w folder

7. You must have in the same folder:

• BL-39.bin
• BL-46.bin
• iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw
• redsn0w

8. Open redsn0w and follow the procedure
